We are here for you. Below you will find a complete guide with everything Maya Luxe is doing to keep you safe. We will be with you every step of the way, from choosing the right villa and making sure everything is ready before your arrival to enjoying a perfect (socially distanced) vacation and flying back home without a worry.
1) Book your villa, pack your bags… and don’t forget your facemask
Despite these unusual times, traveling can still be a wonderful experience. As long as you follow some simple guidelines, you can stay safe and enjoy that holiday in the Riviera Maya you have been waiting for.
Some recommendations for travelers are:
• Wear a mask. All airlines require passengers to wear a facemask that covers the mouth and nose at all times. It’s a good idea to bring an extra mask with you, in case you need to change it.
• Avoid crowds and stay at least 6 feet or 2 meters away from people not in your party.
• Wash your hands and use hand sanitizer regularly.
• Avoid touching your face.
• Stay updated on travel restrictions and the latest developments in your country and the Riviera Maya.

2) Enhanced on-site sanitary measures: What we are doing to keep you safe
To ensure you are in a safe and controlled environment, we have implemented a sanitization and safety protocol that will make sure your villa is a perfect refuge.
Some of the measures we are taking are:
• Full villa sanitization.
• Online payments to minimize face-to-face contact.
• Virtual check-in and check-out, with our assistance team available around the clock.
• Staff sanitary protocol: Wearing masks, reducing contact with guests, and constant hand washing.
• Social distancing between guests and staff.
• Constant updates with information both from Mexico and your home country.
3) Antigen & PCR in-villa testing
All of our villas now offer in-villa antigen and PCR testing at preferential rates. All you have to do is book an appointment through your Experience Host, and our doctor on call will come to perform the tests on-site.
Results for PCR tests will be delivered in 24 to 48 hours, while results for antigen tests will typically be ready the same day. The price of the in-villa PCR test is $180 USD per person. The price of the in-villa antigen test is $65 USD per person.
4) All-safety in-villa experiences: Making your villa your private haven
Our Experience Team will make your villa the ideal refuge with a range of in-villa services for you to be comfortable and at ease.
For instance, with our personal chef and grocery shopping services, we will ensure that all essentials are covered and that every meal is perfect. We can also take care of transportation from and to the airport. Your Experience Host will make all the necessary arrangements for you to have a comfortable and safe trip both ways.
If at any point you require medical attention, our on-call doctor will visit your villa. Also, we will provide all the necessary information about the closest hospitals and medical centers. Our staff will be available in case of an emergency and will keep you updated on all new developments regarding the regional pandemic situation.
5) Wearing is caring: Where should I wear a mask?
When you travel to the Riviera Maya, you’ll find plenty of open spaces and opportunities to let loose and worry about nothing. However, we kindly ask you to wear a mask where appropriate to help us look after yourself and others.
It’s ok not to wear a mask:
• Inside your villa and within the open spaces of the property.
• At the beach where there is enough social distancing.
• When driving a car with just the members of your party in it. However, please keep your mask at hand in case you come to a police checkpoint and are required to roll down your windows.
• While sitting at your table at a restaurant.
Please wear a mask:
• When checking in or out.
• While walking on the street.
• In confined spaces like shops or while waiting to be seated at a restaurant.
• In crowded areas, even outdoors.
• At the airport.
6) Peace of mind booking and
cancellation policy
We are aware that these are uncertain times. That is why for all new and existing reservations affected by a travel ban or border closures linked to Covid-19, Maya Luxe will offer a date change within 12 months of your originally scheduled travel at no cost.
If rates for your new booking are higher, you’ll need to cover the difference. However, by waiving the change fee, we want to ensure you have more flexibility to amend your travel plans and visit this amazing destination.
Further, Maya Luxe offers a full refund for all new and existing reservations canceled more than 30 days prior to the scheduled arrival date. Please keep in mind that if cancellations occur 30 days or less prior to the arrival date, all funds paid are non-refundable.
