Culinary Delights

Zaytun
AVENIDA BONAMPAK ZT M227 L1 02 R 09 R09B, Zona Hotelera, 77500 Cancún, Q.R
Known for its authentic Lebanese cuisine, fresh ingredients, and friendly service, this Middle Eastern restaurant offers a savory experience. The most famous dish at Zaytun is the Shawarma de Pollo: This is a classic Lebanese dish of grilled chicken, shaved off a vertical rotisserie, and served in a pita bread with hummus, baba ganoush, and vegetables. It is a popular dish for both tourists and locals, and it is sure to satisfy your craving for Middle Eastern cuisine.

Umi Rooftop + Tokyo Kitchen
12th Street Between 5th And 10 Calle, Playa del Carmen 77710 Mexico.

Playa del Carmen is home to culinary gems like Tokyo Kitchen, a Japanese restaurant in Playa del Carmen that serves up modern takes on classic Japanese dishes, I recommend you order the Hamachi Carpaccio: This is a thinly sliced raw yellowtail tuna that is topped with ponzu sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi. It is a refreshing and flavorful dish that is perfect for a light lunch or appetizer.

La Cochi-loka
C. 10 Nte. 27, Gonzalo Guerrero, 77710 Playa del Carmen, Q.R.

No visit to the region is complete without savoring its authentic flavors. To dive into the heart of the local cuisine, make a pit stop at La Cochi-loka. Nestled amidst the bustling Quinta Avenida in Playa del Carmen, this hidden gem offers delectable cochinita tacos, a favorite among the locals.

Vibrant Nightlife

The Riviera Maya comes alive after the sun sets, offering a vibrant nightlife that caters to diverse preferences. One of the best spots to immerse yourself in the after-dark festivities is the hotel zone of Tulum. Here, an array of restaurants and bars create an energetic atmosphere filled with music and celebration.

Clandestino

5ta Av. con, C. 10 Nte., Centro, 77710 Playa del Carmen, Q.R.

For those in pursuit of the perfect cocktail, the Riviera Maya has a trove of options waiting to be explored. Kascabal Restaurant boasts an impressive array of mixology creations. I highly recommend trying a Margarita de Mezcal. This intriguing twist on the classic Margarita infuses the smoky depth of mezcal for a truly distinctive flavor.

Engaging Activities

The Riviera Maya is paradise for nature enthusiasts and water sports enthusiasts alike. On our experiences page, you can find tours of every type you can imagine. For example, our Cenote Tour is the perfect blend of natural exploration and adrenaline-pumping activities. Embracing Traditions and Festivals

Visitors fortunate enough to coincide with the Day of the Dead festivities can witness a unique cultural celebration. While local businesses adorn their spaces with festive decor, the Xcaret Festival stands out as an unmissable event during this time. Additionally, the Playa del Carmen Fair (typically held from around July 7 to 16) provides a glimpse into local life, featuring a vibrant array of food, traditional sweets, and cultural events near the Municipal Palace.

Unveiling Hidden Escapes

For a day of escape, consider visiting Cozumel or Isla Mujeres, two treasures waiting to be discovered. Spend the day exploring these islands, savoring local cuisine at a restaurant or beach club, and relaxing on some of the region's most pristine beaches. Another option for a day excursion is our Chichén Itzá tour, which provides an immersive cultural experience and includes a stop in the charming town of Valladolid.

Curated Shopping Experience

Bringing home authentic souvenirs and local products is an essential part of any travel experience. The Quinta Avenida in Playa del Carmen offers an array of souvenir shops, and you might stumble upon locals selling unique handmade items on the streets. These informal finds often exude a genuine charm that's hard to resist.

If you're seeking a more extensive shopping experience, Playa del Carmen's Paseo del Carmen and La Quinta Alegría are excellent options. They house a variety of stores catering to different tastes. In Cancún, Puerto Cancún beckons with its offerings, while Tulum's center showcases local crafts and products. Alternatively, the hotel zone in Tulum features boutiques offering exclusive products.

Revealing Lesser-Known Gems

As a local curator, I take pleasure in unveiling hidden gems that are frequently missed by travelers. One such gem is Caleta TanKah, a beautiful spot with a beach and a cenote nestled in the nearby jungle. Arriving early is recommended, as its intimate setting can become popular quickly.

If you are looking for Picture-Perfect Spots. The hotel zone of Tulum stands as an insta-worthy haven, boasting a diverse range of restaurants and bars. The captivating designs and high-quality concepts in this area ensure that your social media feed will be flooded with stunning visuals.

Exclusive Insider Tip

Many travelers, especially those from abroad, may not be aware of the time of year with minimal sargassum presence. This period typically falls during the cooler months, roughly from November to February. Planning your visit during these months can enhance your beach experience.
