Culinary Delights

Babes
Calle 10 Norte, Centro, 77710 Playa del Carmen, Q.R.
For those who savor flavors from around the world, Babes is my top recommendation for Thai cuisine. Be sure to try their Pad Thai, renowned for its authentic flavors, and the Green Curry, which is a perfect blend of spices and creaminess. Don't miss their Thai Iced Tea, a sweet and refreshing complement to any dish.

Nicoletta, Playa del Carmen

La Nicoletta
5ta Avenida y Calle 38 Norte, 77720 Playa del Carmen, Q.R.
When seeking something more upscale, La Nicoletta never disappoints. Their Gnocchi al Gorgonzola is a creamy delight, and the Pizza Tartufo, with its rich truffle flavor, is a must for pizza lovers. Pair your meal with a glass of their fine Italian wine selection for a truly elegant dining experience.

El Doctorcito
Calle 1ra Norte con 26, 77710 Playa del Carmen, Q.R.
The Riviera Maya might not be known for traditional dishes, but if you crave some fish ceviches and tuna sashimi, El Doctorcito is my go-to spot. Their Ceviche Mixto is a refreshing mix of fresh seafood, and the Tuna Sashimi is delicately sliced and incredibly fresh. For a unique local flavor, try their Agua Chile, a spicy and zesty seafood dish.

Nightlife and Music

As someone who thrives in the vibrant night scene, I find any place with live music irresistible. Fah on 5th Avenue is a personal favorite, with its heart-pumping live performances almost every night. While I don't have a single favorite bar, Be Playa and Chela de Playa stand out for their sunset views and refreshing drinks.

For cocktail lovers, Trujillos offers a unique and flavorful experience, if you go, don't miss out on their Passionfruit Mezcalita, you’ll looove it!

Things To Do

Nature enthusiasts will find a haven in Punta Allen at the Sian Ka'an Biosphere. Here, you can witness dolphins, turtles, and even crocodiles in their natural habitat. But if what you are really looking if to have a deep dive into the region's rich culture, a temazcal ceremony is an unforgettable experience.

Snorkelling in Akumal Bay

If you visit the Riviera with the family, you’ll find joy in Akumal's serene beaches or the unique offerings of Xenses Park. And for a true Riviera Maya experience, exploring the diverse cenotes is a must, each cenote tells a story of geological marvels and ancient Mayan significance. Guided tours can offer insightful narratives about their formation and importance. We offer some amazing tours and I can book one for you if you need it.

Hidden Jewel

One of the Riviera Maya's best-kept secrets is Isla Contoy, an untouched paradise and a government-protected nature reserve. This small, uninhabited island, renowned as a bird sanctuary, is a paradise for birdwatchers and nature lovers. It offers excellent snorkeling opportunities with its crystal-clear waters and vibrant coral reefs.

My Personal Secret

But the true secret to experiencing the Riviera Maya? It's about immersing yourself in its culture, connecting with its people, and indulging in its cuisine. Mexico is a land of magic, best understood and appreciated by living it, not just visiting it.

As someone who has made this magical place my home, I invite you to explore its wonders and find your own piece of paradise here. Don’t forget that I can also be your personal curator during your next vacation if you need some additional insider tips. Just ask for Tonje and I'll be happy to help.
